Saudi Arabia has officially submitted its bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034 at a ceremony in Paris.
The bid book was presented by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, alongside Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) President Yasser Al Misehal and two young talents from SAFF's regional training centers.
The bid, supported by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aligns with the Vision 2030 objectives to advance sports in the Kingdom. Prince Abdulaziz emphasized the bid as a future-oriented initiative, aiming to inspire Saudi youth and solidify the nation's global sports influence.
Yasser Al Misehal highlighted Saudi Arabia's historical passion for football and its commitment to creating a lasting legacy. The inclusion of young talents in the delegation symbolizes the Kingdom’s focus on youth engagement and development.
Since announcing its intention to bid on October 4, 2023, Saudi Arabia has been the sole nation in the race for the 2034 World Cup. The next steps involve FIFA's official visits and bid evaluation, with the host nation selection set for December 11, 2024.
